ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems installed 15 fast overhead sectional doors at Copenhagen Markets, Scandinavia’s largest wholesale distribution center, to enhance the flow of customers, stall holders and goods through the busy market.

Copenhagen Markets is a hive of activity. Retailers, restauranteurs and food service providers from all over Denmark and southern Sweden flock to the 77,000 m2 market to buy fresh flowers, fruit, vegetables, and other perishables from around 60 wholesale stalls.

With the popularity of the market continuing to grow, Copenhagen Markets needed to upgrade 15 of its existing ASSA ABLOY doors with the new, overhead sectional doors with a fast opening and closing cycle. This upgrade will assist with the increase in traffic and ensure the safe flow of people and goods in and out of the building.

Fast, safe and energy-saving

With a speed of one meter per second, the ASSA ABLOY OH1042S is four-times faster than regular overhead sectional doors. The fast speed also helps minimize energy loss by up to 12% and maintain a constant temperature inside the market.
To prevent seasonal drafts, damp and moisture entering the market, the door has air and water-tight seals on all sides.

Equipped with intelligent photo-cell safety sensors, the ASSA ABLOY OH1042S stops immediately if any obstruction is detected, keeping customers, stall holders and goods safe.

To minimize downtime, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems created an installation programme that would ensure business-as-usual for all stakeholders. To ensure all doors are fully operational, Copenhagen Markets also took the opportunity to renew their service agreement for their new doors, ensuring that each door is serviced at least once a year.
